It Comes

The worms are squirming
under the house,
down
under the house.

The weeds are rising
up
through the concrete,
the dandelions rise.

Frost-thaw is
breaking
the roads,
cracking
the roads.

Humanity
is
such a heavy load.

  1. I rather liked this one. I think there's more to do with this concept, but as it is I like the cynical bitterness of it. It's almost like I could imagine someone spitting these short words like bullets.
